Just losing my job last month (corporate downsized) I have been studying up on starting a service.  I have to say in all honesty there is more information here than anywhere else online. It is also nice to use all the discounts and programs. I saved $60 a month on my health insurance, and could drop my $200 COBRA payment to my former employer. Dave / Pro-Line Carpet Cleaning Florida

As a new member both to this site and my new employer I am looking forward to learning and picking up on new and refreshing ideas. I am the Training Manager for our organization and am looking for inventive ways to train our many employees. As a military retiree I bring several avenues or approaches to the training arena, however every industry is different and where else but here can I get ideas from the experts. Thank you to all. E.A. H. / Janitronics Inc.

I have been working in this field for the last five years. I am glad to have found this resource and have already learned. Lizzy / 3rsgroup

I am married with two children 17 & 13. I have always stayed home with them during the years, and got jobs here and there to stay home with them around my husbands schedule. I worked for a doctor for the last year, and he was ok in the beginning and finally got the business going, so I had to go. I got tired of working my tail off to make everyone else more money, and got tired of being talked down too at times, so I said I would work for myself. That's the only way I am gonna be happy I believe. I have been in the cleaning business for a month now and have 10 residential that I do weekly. I believe I am doing good in such a short time. I hope to keep on going and have to hire help soon. Thanks for this site and those who help, you all have been so helpful, and I look forward to learning more on here, and hopefully help others in the future. Take care everyone and good luck with your business. Deana / DNK Cleaning

This site is the best. Lisa / Ivy Janitorial

My name is Steve, I just started our cleaning service. Janitorial services is a new area for me but I have experience with running a business, having had a couple home based business over the years but nothing ever to this level. Lot's of hoops to jump through if you want to do everything right...We are starting off with about 4 employees and hope to make a good start this year. Hopefully this will happen since I'm trusting you guys to help me along here...This site looks good and has lots of info for new business owners. Steve / Onpoint Janitorial

You will find this is like having a whole new family here. Everyone is wonderful and they all help each other. It is the best site I have ever been part of. You will find everyone is more than helpful. Stacy / JNJ Cleaning

I am in the startup phase of opening a construction cleaning company. This site is very informative. The best one I have visited yet. Megan Moore / Moore Services

I am Natalie Crow of Crowz Cleaning Services (formerly Crowz Cleaning & Maintenance). We are located in Mohave County, Kingman Arizona. We run our business from our home and currently do commercial janitorial, residential, medical, professional office, manufactured home set-ups & lot demo maintenance, property management turn-overs, resilient hard floor care (strip/seal/finish/burnish), and carpet & upholstery heat extraction. We owe much of our success to IJCSA.... This place it fantastic! Lots of info here and the opportunity to share what you learn also! My husband John & I started Crowz in December (that's when we applied for our license anyway) and got our first residential client on January 4th. That first month in business we earned a whopping $80.00 gross. We joined the local chamber of commerce and 6 weeks later had gained 1 residential and 3 commercial clients. I/we joined IJCSA & this Forum in April not long after it's inception. Some months later I became a Moderator at this site. We continued to grow, got a website (thanks to Christy & Kevin!) and added services. In August we hired our first part time employee. September saw the purchase of a 1300 sq ft ground-set manufactured home on half an acre of land in the county ordnance. We moved lock, stock, and barrel to the new location after 3 weeks of hard work painting, flooring, appliances, etc.. In November 2005 I made our website "bot" friendly then re-submitted it to search engines, placed a display ad in the local newspaper (online & in print), and suddenly slow turned to rapid growth. We have gotten 4 residential and 3 commercial accounts in the last 6 weeks. We also hired 2 more part time employees. Two weeks ago we purchased a second service van just for residentials. John & I still work every single job too! Our biggest account to date was secured in a round-about way. We got a call for residential estimate in Rancho Santa Fe subdivision where we had 2 current accounts. The lady was insistent (they have 2 indoor/outdoor dogs) that we clean her home that Friday when our other 2x's a week accounts were on Monday & Thursday. So, we decided to go take a look-see and give her a really high estimate. Turned out that they owned J & B Manufactured Homes! Heck, we saw them at every mixer and even have a photo clipping from a chamber newsletter with all of us in it on our office bulletin board! Needless to say, we took the account at a reasonable price, cleaned it (took 3 of us less than 2 hours.... boy are we good!) the very next day. On Monday we got a call from her husband. They were so impressed they took Monday AM visit for their residence and asked us to take their commercial cleaning as well! Yeehaw!!! So, we get home, office, new set-ups in the field & lot, and lot demo maintenance all in one shot. So far for February it looks like about a $1000.00 from this account alone. This month receivables are $4150.00.... compare that to $80.00 a year ago! Next month who knows? Yup, life is good.... just wish I had more time! It has been a busy & exhausting 6 weeks! I also woke up on Christmas Eve morning with laryngitis and 102 fever. Worked through it all anyway as usual. My voice is almost back to normal now. All this has prevented me from posting here.... I have missed it so much We are forever indebted to IJCSA/Kevin Carnahan for all the help and education we have received. This is a fantastic place to learn, grow, and get the help you need! We would not be where we are today without you. Natalie / Crowz Cleaning

This site has been such a blessing to find. I am so glad I stumbled across it. It is an indiscernible tool to my business now. I decided to start my own business because I am very capable of running and managing a business and having been laid off 4 times in the last 7 years, I am tired of being at the mercy of an employer. Getting started is the hardest part and I want to make sure I do it right. Thank you for making IJCSA available! Jennifer / Tex Cleaning

We are very excited about our plans. Right now we want to dedicate our services to Realtors, Investors and anyone who wants his VACANT property cleaned and be repaired by honest, carrying people and most importantly with integrity. I just finished designing the business cards, flyers and want to make a logo for our company but I know I don't need one right now. I've also called a few Insurance Agents and was surprised to hear some of them say that I needed 2 years on the business before they would insure me. Just one called me back today with a rate of 789.00/yr. So... This got me wondering how many people had given up without even trying because of being turned away like this. Anyways, I plan to make great use of this site and hope I can give other great advise in the near future. I'd like to say that this site is very helpful for starting a cleaning business.
