I always have been simple minded. My best asset has always been , common sense. I skipped the 11th grade and graduated in 1978. I was not book smart but used my common sense to pass and move up. In 1982 My neighbor asked if I wanted to help them. They had a cleaning company and cleaned a local K mart. I would go in with his son and clean at night. His son would set in break room all night while I worked my butt off to get the job done. The next morning the son was there at the door to take all the credit. I had mentioned to someone that this son was not a good worker and the father heard about it. He was very angry at me and believed his son over me and that his son actually was doing most of the work. I told him he would found out the truth very soon and quit the job. One month later they lost the account. Told him so.
Anyways, I thought to myself, I can do this on my own. I worked for a small company in neighboring town to learn a little more about the business. Then I set out on my own. I remember my very first strip job. It costed me to do the job. But the learning experience was priceless. I bought my first high speed buffer by having a local tire store purchase it for me and then let me work it off by buffing their floors each week. That was a long time ago. The years have taught me many valuable lessons. It continues to do so. You can never know it all when it comes to cleaning. Just when you think you know the best way to do something, you learn an even better way.
As for myself. I am a Taurus the Bull, My favorite color is blue. My favorite movie is, A River Runs Through It., My favorite food is Junk Food, My favorite vehicle is one that runs and won`t break down, My favorite song is Go tell it on the Mountain, My favorite singer is Don Williams, My favorite thing to do is Camping, My favorite sport is fishing, I love the outdoors, I love a simple life, I love having cook outs, I love having friends around, I love TN, As you can see everything simple is my favorites.
I would love to build up my business big enough to sell and retire on the sale. Don't know if that will happen or not but until then I will love my business and being my own boss.
Being a member of the IJCSA has resulted in running Envirostat more efficient. It has gave me a place to seek knowledge,It has gave me a place to vent. It has gave me many friends with common interest. It has been great. I love helping others and I love others who are willing to help me. I look forward to many new relations and many new friends in the years to come from being a member of the IJCSA. There are to many to thank individually so I will just say , Thank each and every one of you for being there when I need you.
I believe that most people will not succeed because most will never take a chance. People are naturally afraid of failure. But anyone who is anything got there by taking that first big step. Ask yourself why there are so many out there who work for minimum wage. Its because they know they can do it without failing. If you are here and reading this it is probably because you are one of the few that have said enough fear, I am taking that step.
Thanks to all of you,
