How I began JNJ Cleaning and Courier: I
had been Bar tending full time, and waitressing on the side pretty much
since I was old enough to legally work. When I began bar tending I loved
it, I got to meet new people all the time, plus the money was great.
Mostly I worked nights, I also had breakfast shifts as a waitress. I
worked hard, and alot. So I never had any time to be home with my kids,
and when I was, I was always so tired. One night while bar tending
someone decided to take their drink with them. We didn't have a bouncer
where I worked, and the manager was not there. Needless to say I had to
go after the drink myself, I was polite, letting him know I thought it
was unintentional, but he pulled a gun out. It really scared me this
incident, I have had others where knives have been pulled on other
people ect.. After this I knew I had to get out of this, I was so tired
of it.Other life factors made me choose to move back to my hometown
where I began working for someone else cleaning residential homes.I
found that I enjoyed it, I love to be active. And after a few months I
decided to take a friend up on an offer to move to Illinois. When I got
here I worked for one Cleaning Company, and they were awful. I did not
like the way they did things and treated the employees, I tried
waitressing and during this time I was also beginning my business. It
has taken almost a year to get where I am at, and I have a long way to
go. But I know if I stick with it and do my absolute best I will be
successful.
There is alot more competition in my area than I originally factored in
and I refuse to cut my rates to compete so it has been a little hard
and slow. I added another service and with the 2 combined I am living
on it. Maybe I'm not rich, and I have to juggle sometimes, but I am
home more than I have ever been, and I am happy. Plus I don't have to
put up with having employers who are less than desirable.I am hoping in
the future I can help other single parents like myself to create a
better life for themselves. It's really hard to juggle all these things
and have no time for your children. I did it for 16 years, I wished I
would have tried to do this years ago, but you live and learn.Anyway
that's my story. Stacey Wallace JNJ Superior Cleaning & Courier
